ParcelGenie is a website which allows you to send real-world gifts to your online friends. Be it though LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or the brand new Windows Phone 7 app, you buy the gift and say who you want to send it to, and they will take care of the rest.

Once you start up the app, you just select your country and then immediately can scroll through their 5 categories of products, ranging in price from £1.99 up to about £8.99 (roughly $3.15 – $14.20, but prices internationally may vary). They include various chocolates, small gifts like keyrings, right the way through to larger items such as mugs.

After the product is chosen, you may customise the message sent to the recipient, then pay with either a credit or debit card, PayPal, or reverse charge SMS (which costs around 25% more). While the reverse charge SMS is definitely easier to set up (typing in a full credit card number and details isn’t quick on the phone), the PayPal option is quick and doesn’t cost any extra.

All in all a very easy to use app with a great experience which makes it dead easy to buy items and send them to your friends or loved ones – highly recommended for that unique and unexpected little gift.
